I am a 25-year-old stay-at-home-mom of two young boys. Before meeting Darcy starting the Body Back program, I was really overweight, stressed out, and honestly not all that happy with the direction my life was headed. Yes, I have a wonderful husband and great kids, whom I love more than life, but honestly I wasn't giving MYSELF much love. My husband works long hours and I found myself being stretched so thin that no one was really getting the best of me. Joining the Body Back program showed me that it's ok to take time for myself, and that doing so can make me an even better wife and mother! The more time I gave myself the better I felt!
The group workouts were amazing! They are so fun and it feels so good to be with a group of women who know exactly what you are going through. I felt complete support through every step of this journey and that is something I have never experienced before in all of my efforts to get healthy and lose weight. Meeting up 2x a week really kept me going and having the videos at home made it so easy to stay on track during the week. The more I workout the better I feel! I've been able to find activities that i enjoy and that keep my mind and body strong! I've learned that taking just one hour a day to do something for myself helps me to get centered, and to not feel so lost in the rush of day-to-day life! Also, staying in touch during the week on the private Facebook group really helped me stay motivated, and seeing my fellow body back girls succeed in their journeys, and reach their goals was so rewarding! It's so awesome what we can achieve together!
The program also changed my entire outlook on food and the way I feed my family! One of the sayings in the food guide that has really hit home with me is that, if you can't always make the best choice, you can always make a better choice! That idea really stuck with me in this journey. I was not feeding my family in the most healthful way before, and I realized that they and I deserved so much better! In the beginning i thought I could only eat salads and baked fish if i wanted to loose the weight. i was so wrong! The ladies in the group would share healthy meal ideas and I soon learned I didn't have to eat strictly salads to get the results I wanted! I've learned how to feed my family in a clean way, that satisfies even my picky husband and kids, and nourishes my family in the best way possible. If I could have taken only one lesson from this program, I would have to say that learning to eat clean is one of the best things to ever happen to my family!
Darcy Peters and the Body Back program have given me so much more than just my body back! I've gotten back my confidence in my abilities, my inner strength, my will to strive beyond what I thought I could do, and my pride in myself for what I have achieved. It feels so great, not only to loose excess weight that I have been carrying around, but to make a positive change for myself and my family. I see no limit to what I can do now, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me! (Definitely another body back session, wink, wink)
